My sewing projects

We dusted off my sewing machine this past week. It has been ages since I used it last, I think I could count in years. I wrote we, because Greg is actually the one that got it out to make book covers from some Guatemalan fabric we bought while vacationing in Guate. And that sparked something in me because in just a few days I dedicated most of my time to three projects. The first one is a scripture cover for Greg's brand new Book of Mormon. The other two are bathrobes for Katlynn and Gevin. I thought it would be nice for them to have a robe so they can throw something on when they get out of the pool and hey, it also serves as a towel:) They love them which is great to see. I feel a great sence of acomplishment. Even Greg is happy with what I did for him. So here are some pictures to show you what I was busy making recently.

A thought for the day

This is a quote from President Gordon B. Hinckley:
"You need never feel inferior. You need never feel that you were born without talents or without opportunities to give them expression. There is something of divinity in you. You have such tremendous potential because of your inherited nature. Every one of you was endowed by your Father in Heaven with a tremendous capacity to do good in the world. Cultivate the art of being kind, of being thoughtful, of being helpful. Refine within you the quality of mercy which comes as a part of the divine attributes you have inherited."

Doctrine and Covenants 6:10
Behold thou hast a gift, and blessed art thou because of thy gift. Remember it is sacred and cometh from above.

Weekly report

I'll try to remember and write down all of the things that have happened during this last week.

I'll start with Monday the 29th of June.

The weather turned out nice and so we decided to spend most of the day swimming in our 13' pool. Well more like playing around since we didn't do much of swimming. Gevin and Katlynn have a blast if daddy joins them because then the get tossed around a lot and they love it. Greg gets a lot of their attention when he gets in. The kids won't leave him alone for one second. It's a lot of fun for me to watch them.

We try to mow the lawn every Monday because the garbage gets emptied the next day. So that's what we did. I took care of all the edging and trimming while Greg did all the mowing. We make a good team doing that.

Tuesday

That is my work day. I work from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesdays, to 2:00 pm on Fridays. I love my summer schedule. Two days a week.... cannot complain. Greg meets me at work at 1:00 and hands over the kids. I usually take them to the park on our way home. They like playing in the park in Corrine where the D.C. is because it has cool toys like a couple of teeter-totters and a fast merry-go-round.
I need to mention that we have a really cool dentist. He has put on a picnic for all of his patients at the local park and rented the public swimming pool for an hour and a half. So that's where we went (the kids and I, Greg had to work). It was great. They served hot dogs and hamburgers with whatever could go with them. The swimming was great, too.

Wednesday

Greg has asked me to meet him for lunch (that would be our dinner). So I've prepared tacos for all of us and met him at work at 7:00 pm. It is always great to be all together, especially during a time we normally wouldn't.

Thursday

Gevin had to go to the dentist for his last (third) cavity to be fixed. He can handle only one at the time. So, needles to say he didn't want to go and was crying way too early, even before the drilling. It was a little cavity. Dr. Haws didn't need to use his big drill, he calls it Mr. Wiggle. He was using his smaller one, Mr. Whistle. I thought Gevin can handle that one. ... Nope. It took more numbing and convincing for him to hold still. But we got it done in almost an hour. I'm thinking it would be great to really make sure he doesn't get cavities anymore:)

Friday

Work day:)

Saturday

Went to Ogden to do little shopping for some groceries in Sam's club, Did little bit of swimming and watched Transformers #1.

Sunday

Beautiful day.... Katlynn walked to church, but the rest of us took a ride in a car. .... So we wouldn't be late. Our church starts at 11 o'clock. And one would think that it would be so much easier to get ready for:) I love my Primary class. I have currently 5 cute little 4 and 5-year-olds. They are fun to be with.
And since it was Sunday we didn't do much after church. We had fun playing with the kids. Greg fixed these delicious fajitas I had to have for both lunch and dinner. Yummy. He is such a great cook!

And that is it for the week. I'll see what this one has in store for us:)
